Our Insultation Service
Warm in Winter, Cool in Summer
Did you know that most of the summer heat enters your home through the ceiling? And the same goes for the winter time, when almost 42% of the precious heat from the home can get lost through the ceiling of an average brick veneer home.
Insulation: the Key to Comfort and Lower Energy Bills
Installing ceiling insulation is an effective way to keep your home cool in summer and to reduce the loss of heat in winter. Insulation reduces the heat transfer between the rooms and the roof area of your home. By blocking this heat transfer with effective insulation, your home can be up to 12 degrees cooler in summer and up to 12 degrees warmer during the winter season. And, using less energy on making your home comfortable throughout the year will reduce your energy bills, while you also help lower the amount of green-house gasses emitted into the atmosphere.
Types of Insulation
Cellulose
Natural Cellulose Fibre is a safe, effective, non-Irritant insulation manufactured from wood pulp fibre (recycled news print) permanently treated to render it totally fire resistant and vermin proof, is allergy free, and has a lifetime guarantee.
This type of insulation has a proven record over many years. First used in the USA in the 1940's where the unique insulating qualities were used to make electric heating economically viable. It is still the most popular domestic insulation in the United States and Canada today. Although relatively new to Queensland it has been used successfully in the southern states as well as New Zealand for a much longer period as well as many government housing projects.
Natural Cellulose Fibre achieves excellent performance due to its high resistance to heat, coupled with the fact that it can be installed without gaps. A recent government report stated that "5% gaps in ceiling insulation will reduce its effectiveness by up to 50%." Natural Cellulose Fibre is installed to form a complete barrier against the transfer of heat in your home. It simply works better and lasts longer.
Experience has shown that exposed beam and raked ceilings can be very hot in summer. Cellulose Fibre is the only effective insulation that can be installed into this type of roof without much difficulty. It is excellent for keeping outside noise from traffic or rain on a metal roof to a minimum.
Natural Cellulose Fibre is non-irritant, working in the ceiling is no problem and electrical wiring is easy to locate.
A number of experiments conducted under the supervision of fire prevention experts have shown this type of insulation is a far superior fire barrier and provided substantially more time for the occupants of a burning home to escape.
Guaranteed Tested, Manufactured and Installed to Australian Standards- AS 2462 -AS 2464 - AS 3999. The Insulation Man is a family owned company dedicated to value and customer service. An average home can be insulated in less than two hours with a minimum of fuss.
Poly Insulation
Poly insulation is manufactured from virgin and re-cycled synthetic carbon fibres. Such polymer fibres are water repellent, clean and dust free, making poly insulation possibly the most clinical of all.
Polymer fibres are non-allergenic making it the perfect product for allergy and asthma sufferers. Other uses include container packaging for food and beverage storage. Poly insulation is soft, safe and extremely easy to use, thus you have no requirements for protective clothing, making them extremely consumer friendly.
Poly insulation is so versatile that it is also widely used in the building industry for Thermal and Acoustic applications and requires NO need for protective clothing or breathing apparatus when handling.
Poly Insulation has been tested to Australian Standard 1530.3 and it has a zero ignitability and zero spread of flame
Wool Insulation
Extensive research by CSIRO provides supporting Scientific evidence of the thermal advantages of wool over other insulation fibre materials.
Wool's ability to rapidly absorb and desorb moisture from the surrounding air enhances its cooling effect.
- Wool is naturally fire retardant and dust free
- Wool has excellent acoustic properties
- Being a soft fibre, wool is blended with safe polymer fibres to assist with loft maintenance
The lasting ability of wool should be equal to many life times and today is permanently treated with safe natural mineral salt solutions against its known predators.
